Iron ingot is a basic metalworking material. Smelt Iron ore into ingots, then turn them into Nails, Simple iron parts and Complex iron parts. Later, ingots feed Steel ingot production. Buy from Krezvold if you cannot run a furnace yet.

Obtaining

Talk to Krezvold to obtain the Iron technology and unlock the Furnace and ingot production. The basic furnace processes ore and recycles Metal scrap. A Furnace II or Furnace III processes more ore per batch.

Ingots are available at trader tier I. The base purchase price is 80 copper coins and the base resale price is 57; check the shop for the current quote. Prepare both materials and fuel. Fuel costs below are separate from player Energy, and processing times use minutes:seconds.

Every furnace converts one Iron ore into one ingot. Higher tiers process more per batch and require proportionally more ore.

Fireman batches

These batches require Fireman. Both input and output double, while fuel rises from 25 to 40 per batch. The perk does not create extra ingots without extra ore.

Metal scrap recycling

Both steel recipes require two iron ingots and one Graphite. The Furnace II uses 45 fuel and takes 3:30; the Furnace III uses 25 fuel and takes 3:00. See Steel ingot for details.
